Ushanka, fur Papaha

Ushanka and papaha winter hats popular in Russia and Soviet Union. Soldiers, Officers, Generals and Navy hats made out of fur, leather and Astrakhan fur Karakul. Ushanka trapper hat is a comfortable warm Russian earflaps fur cap with flapping ears that can be tied up to the crown of the cap and under the chin to protect the ears, jaw and chin from the cold. Astrakhan hats and Kubanka hats were used by Don Cossacks in WW2 and are still in use in present days.
